Established in 1987, Sylmar Technology is dedicated to the supply of high quality solid surface products for domestic and commercial use. With its two key brands maia and Avonite, Sylmar Technology has become one of the UK's leading and most trusted suppliers.

Based in Derbyshire, the Sylmar site incorporates state of the art offices and manufacturing facilities. Sylmar Technology uses its 26,000 square foot factory to produce and fabricate its own popular maia modular worktop collection for the kitchen and bathroom market, as well as to house the extensive Avonite range of sheet material.

Maia solid surfaces allow consumers to achieve an affordable worksurface solution that boasts the look and feel of products costing twice as much. Bridging the gap between laminate worktops and top end bespoke solid surface options, maia modular worksurfaces are hand-fabricated and finished in Sylmar’s Derbyshire factory.

Maia surfaces combine a sealed chipboard substrate core, surfaced and edged in a 3mm sheet of acrylic solid surface material, offering a luxurious finish with numerous benefits:

The FIRA gold award-winning maia collection includes 10 different colour options, as well as a choice of integrated sink modules (including Franke models) and curved island units to offer customers variety and flexibility.

Complementary splashbacks, upstands, plinths, hot rods and chopping boards are also available to complete the look.

All maia worksurfaces come with a 10-year manufacturer’s guarantee for added peace of mind.

Established in the USA in 1983, Avonite Surfaces are commonly used for commercial applications due to their unique durability. Hard, homogenous and repairable, Avonite Surfaces can be inlaid and jointed inconspicuously.

The polyesters can be finished to a true reflective gloss unlike any other acrylic sheet material.
